Short Description
This demo presents a 40 m² greenhouse that hosts four different systems: recirculating squash pots, horizontal NFT lettuce, vertical NFT lettuce and non-recirculating bean pots. The setup allows for simple comparison of space-efficient production methods and different nutrient delivery strategies (recirculating vs. non-recirculating).
Target Stakeholders
Farmers, cooperatives, researchers, students, municipalities, policymakers, SMEs, innovators, young people and women in sub-urban areas.
Main Goal
The main goal is to increase the awareness of entrepreneurs and producers in the region for sustainability in agriculture, efficient use of water, reduction of fertiliser and chemical use, high productivity, ecosystem health and year-round production.
